the main reason for coming to lille was to visit la villa carvois,

designed by robert mallet-stevens in the outskirts of lille.

even though i've seen many photos of the house, i didn't expected how impressive it was

- by its size, and all the materials, the colors; and i didn't know about its story neither.

it turned out that my birthday plans got cancelled at the very last minute :(

instead, the day before my birthday, i took a train to lille for a day trip. 

in the early morning, the light was low, and i loved the soft colors in the streets of the old town.

bonus : i had a delicious matcha latte and a salted dark chocolate cookie
