villa carvois b&w

the main reason for coming to lille was to visit la villa carvois,

designed by robert mallet-stevens in the outskirts of lille.

even though i've seen many photos of the house, i didn't expected how impressive it was

- by its size, and all the materials, the colors; and i didn't know about its story neither.

it turned out that my birthday plans got cancelled at the very last minute :(

instead, the day before my birthday, i took a train to lille for a day trip. 

in the early morning, the light was low, and i loved the soft colors in the streets of the old town.

bonus : i had a delicious matcha latte and a salted dark chocolate cookie

nissim de camondo museum

back in october

on a gloomy sunday, i visited the nissim de camondo museum,

his hotel particulier with all his furnitures and his art collection.

never heard about this place before. so so beautiful.

life has been crazy busy these past few weeks

i don't even have time to share a lot of things here

'vivre heureux dans un petit espace' by dominique loreau

it could be my new bible - despite the author's extreme opinion sometimes !

inspired by the japanese aesthetic for small spaces, the author advocates the less is more theory.

worth reading for those (like me) who live in tiny home.

'la tendresse des pierres' by marion fayolle

this book put me into tears, really

marion draws the last moments and passing of her father.

it is delicate and beautiful - and sad, obviously.

i'm still listening to this song, on repeat :

"memories" by the proper ornaments, off of their album coming out in january.

i look forward to read jessica koslow's first book !
